AMAZON RAINFOREST TOURS
The Ecuadorian Rainforest is located in the easter
n lowlands of Ecuador. During this wildlife and birdwatching tour we will walk past huge kapok trees while spotting exotic birds, tropical frogs, reptiles such as black and white caiman, noisy monkeys such as howler monkeys and spider monkeys and with some luck mammals such as giant otters, tapirs and others. On these expeditions we will also have the opportunity to visit the native communities of the area. In the Oriente there are 6 different communities (Cofan, Siona-Secoya, Huaorani, Achuar, Shuar and Quichua) most of them conserve part of their culture and try to live like their ancestors.
Recommendations for all tours in the Amazon basin:
What to bring: Camera, binoculars, flashlight, sunscreen, insect repellant, hat and some cash for shopping. The lodges provide rubber boots for hikes, but you should bring your own if you wear sizes from Eu 47 / US 11 or higher.
Recommendations: Be especially careful with the equatorial sun. It burns hotter than you might think.
